A new educational program will be launched with the goal of developing human resources who can achieve 30 years of innovation within 10 years.

Nagoya University will start a new educational program in the fall of 2018, as a part of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology's "Superior Graduate Program" to develop human resources who will be responsible for the continuous creation of product innovation in the future electronics field.

After successful crystal growth of gallium nitride (GaN), it took 30 years for the white LED, which can be considered a destructive innovation in lighting, to spread. If this could be reduced to ten years, there is no doubt that it has had a greater impact on society, both technically and economically.

In this program, we develop three types of personnel with different roles: "Deployer", "Innovator", and "Investigator". Since cooperation and collaboration of these three types of human resources towards the same goal is the key to accelerating innovation creation, take out the initial letter of the English word indicating each human resource and call it “DII collaboration” I made it. Please refer to the page of purpose / philosophy for details.
